LAHORE: Tehmina Durani has expressed her happiness that her husband Shahbaz Sharif’s 10-year long rule in Punjab is going to end today which was the most frustrating (for her).

“Two days left for my husband SS to step down from Khadim eh Ala, after 10 years of rule in Punjab. Thank God it’s over! Most exasperating time! I’m doing a countdown. SS drove everyone, even at home quite mad. Could not keep up with his speed even in the kitchen”, Ms Dunrani tweeted on Wednesday.

Commenting on her tweet, Anjum Kiyani said “it is not only you but other people of Punjab are also waiting for this day”.

Ms Durani tweets during the GT Road rally of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in August last year set many tongues wagging. She asked Nawaz Sharif to spare his younger brother the responsibility of protecting and assisting his own party’s rally. Unlike other members of the family, Ms Durani has been quite vocal and candid on matters related to the Sharifs.

When the Panama Papers issue hit the headlines she demanded that the offshore wealth be returned to the nation (by the Sharif family). However, the Nawaz camp never responded to her tweets.
