A CHERUBIC nine-year old girl was sexually assaulted, brutally murdered and the body thrown into a pond in Larkana.

This is not the first tragedy as scores of such evil acts have been reported from other parts of the country. The horrific crime speaks volumes about the dark side of our society. Even more unfortunate is the fact that not one politician has bothered to condole with the victim’s family or condemn the incident.

The law enforcement authorities must ensure such criminals are swiftly brought to justice and are given an exemplary punishment.
