Rapists jailed

MITHI: Four suspects were convicted on Saturday for subjecting a young girl to gang-rape in 2014 in Baprario village of Chhachhro taluka in Tharparkar district. A video recently uploaded on social media had gone viral and caused considerable uproar in the country.

Tharparkar District and Sessions Judge at Mithi Mushtaq Ahmed Kalwar pronouncing his verdict sentenced prime suspect Khanu Bheel to 14 years’ imprisonment and ordered him to pay a fine of Rs200,000. His accomplices Anbhi Bheel was awarded two-year imprisonment and Tilo and Balam one month imprisonment each.
