FORMER Deputy Inspector General of Balochistan Police Dilshad Najmuddin passed away in Islamabad on May 18. He was among the few distinguished Christians who reached the pinnacle of public service,

He was a thorough professional and a gentleman to the core. Integrity was his forte. He served in the Police Service of Pakistan with dignity and grace. Never the one to lose self-respect, he had the courage to say no to military and political rulers when asked any illegal favours. Well into his nineties, he was a mentor and a role model for serving police officers. His loss is irreparable. May God in His infinite mercy bless his soul!
