IT is not a good thing for freedom of expression that Dawn.com has been censored by Facebook. The article published in this paper is not deplorable and does not have any negative statement about the judiciary. It is rather Hashmi’s speech. Therefore, there is no rational ground for Facebook administration to block it .

Censorships were in full swing when the church was the dominant figure of the state in the West but this is the modern age and such ensorships must be stopped because the societies which have no freedom of expression cannot progress well.

Nowadays the same situation is in Pakistan and daily we see and hear that media is forced to show such thing but don’t telecast such things. Ideas and thoughts cannot be chained and we must realise that church burnt the Brono alive for saying that the earth revolves but the fact remains that the earth still revolves around the earth despite repeated useless attempts by the church.

Recently both Bannu university of science and technology and Gomal university banned PTM leader Manzoor Pashteen from entering and BST issued a notification about not wearing the cap which Manzoor Pashteen wears. This will add fuel to the matter and will not cool the situation.

The most sensible way is to address the PTM demands and not add insult to injury.

All international and national stakeholders are requested to behave in rational manner and address the people demands and not ban the media or newspaper or articles because this can worse the situation further .
