Superman is the hero of the entire world — be it young or old, everyone loves the Man of Steel. However, youngsters don’t know much about the superhero who landed on Earth from Krypton and who saves his adopted planet on a regular basis. The Big Book of Superman gives parents out there a chance to make their kids learn about Superman, what makes him the best superhero in our galaxy and what the story behind his origins is.

Unlike other superhero books or the ones that have too much text for kids, this one is special since it is easy to understand even if your kid is a four-year-old. They not only will get to know about Superman’s strengths and weaknesses but also about his friends, enemies and pet. Yes, there is a Dog of Steel named Krypto, who landed on Earth and got superpowers just the way his master did.

The illustrations in this book have been taken from early Superman comics that came out some 80 years ago. The style may seem outdated but Superman’s story remains the same. He works at the Daily Planet (Newspaper) but as Clark Kent and is always there for his trouble-prone friends Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen. He fights bad guys like Lex Luthor and Darkseid with the help from Batman, Green Arrow and others.

The way these comic strips are placed in this book will help you understand many things you didn’t know about the Man of Steel. You can see Superman look through walls, fly around to reach his destination quickly and battle evil in all forms. He is shown to fight against aliens, evil robots, giant apes and others who are a threat to Earth and its people. You will also get to know how he mastered his superpowers and how his adopted parents were a great help in this regard.

If you don’t know where Superman’s home on Earth is or what makes him go weak or how people react when they find him amongst themselves, then this book will fill you in. In fact, there is a chart that tells you that there are five kinds of Kryptonite — green, red, gold, blue and white — and each of them has a different effect on Superman. Two of them don’t even have any effect on the Man of Steel and are more destructible for those who oppose him. Interesting, isn’t it?
