Security forces intercepted and killed a 'high-value target' of the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) said to be involved in the killings of over 100 members of the Hazara community as well as police personnel, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported early Thursday.
Col Sohail Abid of Military Intelligence was martyred in the gunfight. Four other soldiers were injured, two of whom are said to be in critical condition.
"Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Killi Almas area of Balochistan on pointation from apprehended high-value target about the presence of suicide bombers along with other terrorists in hideouts," ISPR reported
According to the statement, three terrorists — two suicide bombers and one high-value target identified as Salman Badeni — were killed after an intense gun battle.
The two suicide bombers were of Afghani nationality, ISPR said. One injured militant is in military custody.
A combing operation is ongoing in the area.

Tribute to injured soldiers and martyred Col Sohail Abid who scarified his life for the country. An important task is to identify and disrupt the financial resources of terrorists. Foreign intelligence agencies in Afghanistan are quite active to sponsor terrorism in Pakistan. They must be tangibly answered. Actions are louder than words.

"RIP", "Salute" That simply does not cut it. Its easy to write something while sitting behind your desk in your comfort zone, but can you *IMAGINE* what the soldier's next of kin must be going through? I speak for both the armies, Indian as well as Pak armies fighting against each other or otherwise. The grief pain and hurt can only be understood by families who have suffered a similar loss. A dead soldier's family from across the border will have more meaningful condolence to offer than the entire population of both the countries combined. This brave man died for a cause which is a product of the societies, religions and governments, all of which at this present moment represent more wrong than right, pragmatically. Are we so hollow and unremorseful to let bravery, and national pride die for the sake of our personal ego, religion and a peice of land? "This soldier and scores others will not rest in peace because of us."
