GWADAR: Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani said on Tuesday that the Gwadar port would benefit not only Pakistan but also the whole region.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of a desalination plant installed with the assistance of a Chinese company at the Gwadar port, he said the port would invigorate international financing and bring in economic revolution in the region.

The desalination plant would provide 254,000 gallons of drinking water daily to residents of Gwadar.

He said the plant was a gift from China and efforts would be made to increase its capacity.

The Senate chairman stressed the need for proper utilisation of the resources of Balochistan so that poverty could be eradicated from the province.
