PESHAWAR, May 24: Speakers at a function here on Tuesday stressed the need of students’ participation in sports while striving to excel in studies. Addressing a function held at the University Model School, principal Arjamand Nazir said that students should be encouraged to take part in extracurricular activities along with concentrating on studies.

She was of the view that healthy competition among students lead to cordial atmosphere at schools.

She said that the UMS administration was trying to provide facilities to teachers so that they could impart knowledge in a proper way. Students presented national songs on the occasion.

Four former students of the UMS were chief guests on the occasion.
