LAHORE: All the seeded players have reached the semi-finals of the Second SNGPL All-Pakistan Tennis Championship at PLTA Courts in Bagh-e-Jinnah here on Saturday.

In men’s singles event, Aqeel Khan showed exactly why he is the country’s top player as he swept away Mohammad Shoaib 6-0, 6-0 and set up a clash against Davis Cupper Mohammad Abid who ousted Shahid Khan 6-4, 6-2.

National champion Sara Mehboob set up a title clash against Noor Malik in the women’s singles event. Sara cruised past Shimza Tahir 6-1, 6-1 in their semi-final while Noor worked hard to eliminate Esha Jawad 7-5, 6-3.

The first semi-final of the men’s doubles saw Mohamamd Abid and Usman Rafique outplay the pair of Abdul Haider and Zaid Mujahid 7-5, 6-2.

Boys’ U-18 (semi-finals): Saqib Tayyab bt Ahmed Kamil 6-1, 6-3; Mohammad Shoaib bt Aqib Hayat 6-0,6-3.

Boys’ U-18 doubles (semi-finals): Mohammad Shoaib-Saqib Hayyat bt Faizan Fayyaz-Adnan Khan 6-2, 6-2; Ahmed Kamil-Zalan Khan bt Aaqib Umer-Abdullah 6-3, 7-6.

Girls’ Under-18 (semi-finals): Malika Malik bt Astafalia Arif 6-2, 6-0; Shimza Tahir bt Zara Salman 6-2, 6-1.

Boys Under-16 (semi-final): Aaqib Umer bt Ahmed Kamil 3-6, 6-4, 7-6; Nalain Abbas bt Muhammad Abdullah 6-0, 6-1.

Boys’ Under-14 (semi-finals): Hamid Israr bt Farman Shakeel 6-1, 3-1.

Boys Under-14 Doubles (semi-finals): Hamid Israr-Hassan bt Hamza-Zalan 6-0, 6-2.

Boys’ Under-12 Doubles: (semi-finals): Bilal Asim-Shaheel Tahir bt Ehtasham Arif-Waleed Javed 6-1, 6-2.
