SARGODHA: An accused hurled a shoe at an additional district and sessions judge during the proceedings of a case at Shahpur, about 27 kilometres from here, on Saturday.

Police produced Iftikhar Ahmad Qureshi, a resident of Kotla Jagir in Khushab, in court. During the course of hearing, the accused went beside himself in anger and hurled his shoe at AD&SJ Javed Iqbal and also abused and threatened him. The law enforcers immediately took Qureshi away and sent him behind bars.

The Shahpur Saddar police registered a case against the accused on the complaint of Hasnain Sultan Ahmad (record keeper) of court.

As the word about the incident got round, the judges and lawyers voiced their concern and demanded stern action against the accused.
