Science is a very broad educational subject with hundreds of branches in it. It turns into fun if you start taking interest in every bit of it, be it biology, physics, chemistry and their sub- categories. The more you take interest, the more it becomes entertaining.

So how can you make it fun and adventurous? No worries, www.sciencebob.com — a website does great justice in bringing together both the elements of fun and education for you.

ScienceBob has a sombre interface with black, neon green and yellow colour theme. But don’t be misguided with its serious colour theme, the site is loaded with exciting stuff in categories like ‘Experiments’, ‘Science fair ideas’, ‘Science Q &A’, ‘Research help’, ‘Videos’, ‘Experiment blog’. All these categories are self-explanatory.

So what is exciting you may ask? Well, you can check out science fair project ideas, submit science-related questions, watch experiment videos and access instructions for more than 25 experiments, ranging from floating a ketchup packet in a bottle to learning about buoyancy to building a rocket from a 35 mm film canister. The language used in the instructions is very easy to follow and you also have the option to print it.

While all the experiments are focussed on kids of 12 years and under, be aware that some experiments require parental supervision, so don’t try to tackle all the science tricks on your own. In order for your science experiment to be safe and successful, you must get your parent’s or teacher’s permission, and if required, take help from them too. Moreover, follow the directions as precisely as written on the site, the website specifies.

One of the interesting categories I found was ‘Science Q & A’, which answers your queries regarding daily science, experiments and a lot more. You can submit your questions and get a response each week but for that, you have to register.

Interestingly, ScienceBob is created by science enthusiast Bob Pflugfelder, a science teacher, author, maker, and presenter. He is known to have a mobile lab made from an old ambulance and has appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! show on TV — he is famous for presenting science to kids in a way they have never experienced before.

So have fun exploring science at www.sciencebob.com
