Woman’s body found in canal

OKARA, MAY 23: A youth was run over by a speedy bus, while body of a woman was found in a distributary in the district on Monday. Reports said a Sahiwal-bound bus (PRK-5695) from Faisalabad ran over a youth, Muhammad Imran, of Akbar village when he was standing on the side of Noor Shah road.

Police have registered the case and impounded the bus.

Meanwhile, a watchman, Mehboob, of Arrory village, Deepalpur, witnessed a woman’s body floating in the distributary and informed police.

The deceased woman could not be identified. Police are investigating the matter. They suspect the woman was strangulated to death.
