Exams should be banned in summer

This is with reference to the article “Exams should be banned in summer” by Ambreen Arshad (YW, April 7).

The writer explained so perfectly the problems of a common Pakistani student who try to perform the best in exams that take place during the hot months of April and May. I felt like my feelings were poured out in words about what I experienced in my school, where I, like many other students, had to give exams in hot, sizzling summer.

I hope the government will pay attention to our education system and give students relief by bringing changes in the exam schedules to hold them during cooler months.

Ronaldo vs Messi

This is with reference to the article “Ronaldo vs the Messi, the best against the best” (YW, March 17) by Muneeb Mobin.

The article beautifully compared the lives of the two kings in soccer, Ronaldo and Messi. I was impressed to know that their lives were full of struggles and they both belonged to poor families, but their efforts and zeal for football lifted them up to the pinnacle of success. They both had physical disabilities but with constant struggle, they came out as shining stars.

They both prove that you can be successful in any field, but all it requires is sacrifices and continuous effort. They are the heroes of the world due to their skills in sports.

Unfortunately, in Pakistan, we follow a typical trend to complete studies and get a job. Even though we are also talented in various sports, such as cricket volleyball, badminton, football, tennis, hockey and so many others, few are able to take it up professionally. It’s time that society and all of us change our mindset and rethink the career options available.

Accepting one’s mistakes

This is regarding the article “Accepting one’s mistakes” by Maria Moten (YW, 24 March). I agree with the writer’s views that we should never blame others for our mistakes.

Instead, we should stay calm and try to figure out what we lack. It is not bad to accept if we have done something wrong, in fact accepting one’s mistake gives us strength and makes us brave.

The curse of Shakespeare

This is with reference to the story “The curse of Shakespeare” by Farheen Farwa (YW, April 7). The story was very hilarious and I enjoyed every word of it.

I appreciate efforts of the writer for penning down such an amazing story and would like to request the YW team to publish more stories like this one.
