UNEMPLOYMENT of the educated is a problem faced by a huge number of young candidates today. The modern youth is well-educated, possesses good degrees, and seeking a well-paid job in his respective field.

But owing to limited access to skill-based education and a drop in the financial market, it’s hard for them to get a job of their liking. This creates the scenario of the ‘unemployed educated’.

Unemployment is a worldwide problem. It encourages dishonesty, corruption and falsehood. It develops the dark side of the human character.

In developed countries like the US, with the increase in unemployment rates poverty is also increasing. When recession hit the US in 2008, it was observed that poverty levels had increased astonishingly to 15.7pc. Considering all the facts and figures, saying that unemployment of the educated is a curse worse than poverty might not be an exaggeration.

It is the constitutional obligation of the government to make plans to resolve this problem.
