PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Healthcare Commission on Monday sealed over 100 clinics run by unauthorised medical practitioners in violation of the relevant laws.

According to a statement issued here, the commission has divided the province into three zones wherein teams of officials with support of relevant district administrations are conducting raids against the quacks.

It was stated that the medical laboratories and clinics which were not registered with the commission would be sealed without discrimination. Advertisements would be published in media for public awareness in addition to sending letters to all deputy commissioners to seek their support in that regard.

A team of commission officials in Mardan zone visited Lund Khwar, Hathian, Jalala, and Katlang and sealed the premises of laboratories which were run by unqualified persons or without registration with the healthcare commission.

It is learnt that dozens of clinics and laboratories were also sealed in Peshawar zone on Monday.

The campaign was launched in compliance with the order of Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar during his recent visit to Peshawar.
