PPP MNAs summoned to London

Published May 22, 2005

ISLAMABAD, May 21: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairperson Benazir Bhutto has summoned all party office-bearers, MNAs, senators and ticket-holders in the 2002 elections to London for a grand meeting in the first week of July, sources told Dawn here on Friday. Sources in the party said that Ms Bhutto had also convened a joint meeting of the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) and the Federal Council (FC) in London on July 4 and 5.

They said that all provincial office-bearers had also been directed to attend the meeting.

They said Ms Bhutto had convened the grand party meeting in the month of July as she believed that the present complex political situation in the country would have become clear by that time.

They said Ms Bhutto would discuss with the party leaders the strategy for the next local government elections and possible general elections in the country.
