KOHAT: The tehsil municipal administration and other departments have so far completed 13 of the 30 schemes under the Rs800 million beautification plan in Kohat.

The work is in progress or has been completed on nine projects by the tehsil municipal administration, 14 schemes of communication and works department, four of Public Health Engineering Department, two projects of Kohat Development Authority and one of Pakhtunkhwa National Highway Authority.

District executive officer, finance, Wahidur Rehman said that work was in full swing on the 30 beautification projects. He said that so far the government had released Rs533 million which had been given to the executing agencies. He hoped that the rest of the funds would be made available soon.

When contacted, deputy commissioner Khalid Ilyas said that he wanted to see timely completion of these projects. He said that he was monitoring the quality of work and had also ordered reconstruction in case of the courts in mini sports complex in KDA.

Meanwhile, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Kohat, issued a fresh date sheet of the first and second year intermediate examinations. The exams would commence from April 25 and end on June 9, 2018, a statement issued here said.

The employees coordination council had earlier announced boycott of the examinations starting from April 20, which was called off a few days ago.
