Manchester United were upset 1-0 at home by West Brom on Sunday, which helped their crosstown rivals Manchester city take an unassailable lead in the English Premier League 2017-18 season.

As a result, Man City are the champions of the English Premier League 2017-18 season.

City, who had defeated Tottenham 3-1 a day earlier, needed to win just one of their remaining five five domestic fixtures to be crowned the new champions — a task many had thought they'd accomplish on next matchday.

However, second-placed United's shock 1-0 defeat to West Brom at home today meant that City are already out of the reach of the chasing pack.

It's the fifth time that Man City have won the English topflight division and the third time they've clinched the English Premier League.
