GILGIT: The bodies of three local tourists, who were hit by an avalanche, were recovered from the debris on Thursday.

The three tourists had been missing in Ultar Nallah after they were hit by a snow avalanche from Ultar Glacier near Karimabad on Monday. They included two youngsters Jibran and Ehlayan from Altit village of Hunza and Shani from Lahore.

The bodies were shifted to the district hospital, Hunza.

The GB police, security forces personnel and local volunteers took part in the rescue operation.

After legal procedures, the bodies were handed over to the relatives. The body of Shani would be sent to Lahore early on Friday (today).
