LAHORE: The deadlock between the government and Tehreek Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) is continuing as sit-in by the latter outside Data Darbar entered its seventh consecutive day on Sunday.

Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi, who was declared a proclaimed offender by an anti-terrorism court in the Faizabad sit-in case, told the charged TLP workers here that the protest would continue till the acceptance of demands by the government.

Setting April 12 the deadline for implementation of the 11-point agreement that had led to culmination of the 20-day Faizabad sit-in, he said they won’t end their protest until their main demand was accepted.

The TLP leadership had announced on Friday that they were restraining the call for protest in other towns for the time being because the government had sought a week’s time to implement the agreement.

They said they deferred the protest call after the Punjab government agreed to present Law Minister Rana Sanaullah for quizzing by a seven-man cleric committee over his controversial TV interview and accepting the decree to be issued by the panel.
