PESHAWAR, May 19: The Pukhtun Students Federation (PkSF) has called upon the government to produce its detained leaders before a court of law within three days. Otherwise, it warned, it would launch a protest campaign for their release. PkSF’s central president Sardar Ahmed Khan said at a news conference on Thursday that the federation’s provincial president Saeed Alam and president of the Agriculture University Peshawar, Saeed Babar, had been arrested about one month ago by the campus police allegedly on the complaint of the university administration. He said the detained leaders were sent to the D.I. Khan Jail and alleged that they were meted out inhuman treatment.

He said the government and its agencies were harassing the PkSF activists for the past six months and added that the PkSF leaders were arrested without any charge against them.

He said the PkSF supported the setting up of the Aga Khan Education Board.
