KARACHI: The Enhanced Programme on Immunisation (EPI) in Sindh on Friday included the rotavirus vaccine in its routine immunisation schedule, officials said.
A programme was organised at the EPI office where provincial health secretary Fazlullah Pechuho administered the vaccine to children and made formal announcement to include the vaccine in the EPI programme.
Dr Pechuho said diarrhoea had been a major killer of children across the globe. Similarly, diarrhoea and other abdominal diseases caused half of the children’s deaths in Sindh.
