NOWSHERA: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Friday criticised the corrupt rulers for promoting dishonest practices, nepotism and bribe in the country and said such things were unthinkable in developed countries.

He was addressing a public meeting in Islamabad Koroona area of Risalpur here, where excise and taxation minister Mian Jamsheduddin, MNA Imran Khattak, district nazim Liaquat Khattak, tehsil nazim Ahad Khattak and notables were also in attendance.

CM says reforms in all departments for good governance

He said there was a need for bringing honest people to power to check corruption and put the country on the right track of development.

Mr Khattak said the people had a great opportunity to elect the PTI to power to help its chairman (Imran Khan) become the prime minister, who had the potential to fight against corrupt politicians and bring back the country’s looted money.

He urged the people not to ‘miss that opportunity’.

The CM said the people had realised the PTI government had changed the people’s life in KP through good governance and massive development work and therefore, they’re joining and supporting the party in large numbers ahead of the general elections.

He said when he had taken over more than four years ago, all government departments were literally in ruins but reformed them thereafter to the relief of the people.

Mr Khattak said PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, ANP head Asfandyar Wali Khan, JUI-F emir Maulana Fazlur Rehman had looted the taxpayers’ money during the governments of their parties to the misery of the people.

“The people are hopeless due to the corruption of these politicians,” he said.

The CM said the country had come into being in the name of Islam but the rulers looted it ruthlessly.

He said the condition of the country and province would remain the same if the people didn’t deal with corrupt politicians with strictly in elections.

Mr Khattak said his government had made reforms in all departments and legislated for good governance.

He said he had appointed 3,500 doctors and 75,000 teachers on merit to ensure the provision of better health and educational facilities to the people across the province.
