SIALKOT, May 16: Police claim to have smashed a gang involved in preparing obscene CDs by criminally assaulting runaway and kidnapped children. Additional SP Sharaq Jamal told press on Monday that the four arrested accused — Amjad, Kashif, Abdul Ghaffar and Ashfaq Husain — along with accomplices used to assault children sexually and film the crime. The CDs of the shoots were then exported to some Gulf states for onward distribution. Through these CDs the accused had also blackmailed the aggrieved families.

Jamal said the accused, having a well-organized network, had prepared hundreds of such CDs. The police, he said, had recovered more than 150 CDs from them.

SP (Investigation) Ali Ahmad Sabir said some citizens had provided a CD to the police which helped in smashing the gang.
