Emotional intelligence is what matters

This is regarding the article “Emotional intelligence is what matters” by Maria Moten (YW, February 24). The article was very relevant as it is about time that we inculcate emotional intelligence in our ways of teaching young kids. A high IQ may lead to degrees and diplomas, but a generally better EQ will give us a better, more tolerant and understanding society. I think this topic needs more focus in the coming issues of the magazine.

Never lose hope

It is human nature that if a person doesn’t succeed in the first attempt, they become dejected and loose hope. However, failure and success is part of life. We all have the power to achieve the our goals, but the feeling of losing makes us too weak to stand against obstacles.

We need a positive a mindset for a successful career and with positivity comes the motivation to work hard to achieve our goals. So don’t lose hope even if you fail, be positive and keep trying.

The earth is crying

Humans have inhabited Earth for hundreds and millions of years. The more the period of inhabitation increases, the dirtier the Earth becomes.

Humans are aware of the danger they are posing to this beautiful planet, but when it comes to their benefit, they just forget everything and do as they like and the result is the rapidly increasing global warming and deforestation.

The Industrial Revolution came as a benefit for humans, but it is killing the environment now.

On the other hand, plastic material is responsible for countless animal deaths and, most importantly, for increasing pollution. It is not wrong to say that humans are the enemies of all living organisms on earth, including themselves.

I think it was better if humans never really used their brains and we lived as our ancestors did in the prehistoric times, at least the Earth would not be the way it is now.

When a beloved passes away

This is with reference to the article “When a beloved passes away” by Hiba Khan (YW, January 13). I agree with the writer that it feels very sad when someone near to our heart passes away. Unfortunately, we realise the importance of people when they are not with us anymore.

It is better to be loving and caring to people around us and give time to them as much as we can, so that we have don’t have regrets later in life.
