KHUZDAR: A Frontier Corps soldier lost his life and six others were injured when an improvised explosive device planted on a roadside near the Johan area of Kalat district went off on Monday.

Levies officials said that unknown people had planted the device to target the FC vehicles carrying ration for security personnel deployed in the area.

“The Frontier Corps Balochistan vehicle was passing through the area when it was hit by the powerful IED blast in Pashk area,” Levies officials said.

FC soldier Luqman died and six others were injured in the blast.

The injured were first taken to a nearby hospital and then moved to Quetta.

They were identified as Ashraf, Sobedar Nouman, Mohammad Aslam, Shafi, Khairullah and Akhtar Jamil.
