Punjab clinch U-17 title

LAHORE, May 14: Punjab won the Inter-provincial Under-17 badminton team event championship beating Fata 3-2 at Islamabad. According to the results released by the Sports Board Punjab, Fata got off to a fine start when Masood won the first singles against Osama 15-13, 15-9.

Punjab’s Kashif and Danish restored the parity winning the doubles event beating Jalil and Kabir 15-0, 15-0. Kashif put Punjab 2-1 ahead beating Nadeem 15-1, 15-5 in the second singles.

But Fata equalised the score 2-2 when duo Nadeem and Masood defeated Osama and Adnan in the second doubles 15-5, 15-12.

Adnan of Punjab notched up win in the crucial reverse singles beating Jalil 15-8, 15-5 to seal the fate of the match.
