LAHORE: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has sent all the data of the final squad to the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) for the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Australia.

The data will be forwarded by the POA to the Games organisers, who on Tuesday had given the PHF a 24-hour window to send all the information. Had the PHF not met the deadline, the participation of the hockey team would’ve been in jeopardy.

POA secretary Khalid Mahmood told Dawn on Friday that he had received the data of the remaining 10 players and five officials of the national hockey team from the PHF and passed it on for accreditation.

The PHF had made several changes in the squad both of players and officials in the early list sent in November.

“The final date is March 7 and hopefully all the players and officials will get the accreditation,” Khalid said.

The Games begin in Gold Coast from April 4 to 15.
