KHAR: Several people were wounded during a clash between rival tribes in Bajaur Agency’s Mamond tehsil on Tuesday, local residents and officials said.

They told Dawn that the incident occurred in hilly Dabar area, saying people were offering morning prayers at a mosque when some men of rival tribe attacked them with sticks and stones.

Residents said seven people were wounded in the clash, adding soon after the incident, people of nearby houses rushed to the mosque to beat back the attackers, but they managed to escape.

The wounded men were shifted to agency headquarters hospital, Khar, where their condition was stated to be out of danger.
