Man killed in LoC mine blast

MUZAFFARABAD: A 50-year-old man was killed while two others were injured in a landmine explosion in a village of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Wednesday, according to an official.

Chaudhry Guftar Hussain, deputy commissioner of the southernmost Bhimber district, told Dawn that the incident occurred along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Lawana Khaitar village of tehsil Barnala, where the victims were collecting firewood.

Muhammad Inayat, who was believed to have triggered the landmine, died while Muhammad Hafeez, 25, and Muhammad Tariq, 40, were injured, he said.
