KARACHI, May 12: The opening match of three-match hockey series between Pakistan Seniors and Juniors will be played at Hockey Club of Pakistan on May 15. The first match will be played at 5.00pm, while second and third game will be played at 7.30pm under lights.

Team manager Samiullah said the series would serve as a “good build-up” to the Azlan Shah Cup to be held in Kuala Lumpur from May 26.

He said induction of 12 junior players in the senior team would give youngsters great exposure against top teams like Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, South Africa and Malaysia.

He said Pakistan team was a blend of youth and experience. He rated half-line comprising Mudassar Ali, Imran Khan, Dilawar Hussain, Mohammad Khalid and Asim Khan, as the best.

The official said in absence of penalty corner specialist Sohail Abbas and Ghazanfar Ali, team would be depending on Imran Warsi and Mohammad Imran.—APP
