Developing Karachi

Published February 20, 2018

WITH elections approaching, all political parties have woken up to the situation, and jump-started development plans in Karachi. New pipelines and roads are being laid, the Lyari Express Way became functional while the carpeting of Sharea Faisal took sudden speed.

Nearly all main roads have been dug up in the name of development, the already perfect Tipu Sultan road is being loaded with a flyover while commuters have to face dust and bumpy roads. Several areas were dug up for installing new sewerage lines.

Many of the development works have left citizen’s coughing and sneezing. The surplus of construction equipment has been left on site.

This is an exploitation of government resources on unplanned infrastructure that is only seasonal.
