Merger: Fata demands

Published February 18, 2018

NOWADAYS the government wants to merge the Federally Administered

Tribal Areas (Fata) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and half of the people of Fata are in favour of merging in KP, while the other half are against it.

As I am a student from Fata and am also against the merger for the fact that for 70 years we have remained deprived of basic human rights in Fata, where there are no proper facilities for education, administration , transportation and electricity. In short, there is dictatorship.

The most important issues are lack of security and communication. If Fata merges in KP, who will compensate us the losses we have suffered. KP is economically weak and cannot fulfil our requirements.

The government should first give us a separate province and if this is not possible, then it must fulfil our loses, or else the merger is not acceptable.
