MULTAN: Oman’s first budget airline, SalamAir started operations of its three direct flights to Multan from Muscat.

According to a handout issued on Saturday, flight operations began from Friday after securing final clearance from the aviation authorities.

Multan, SalamAir’s destination in Pakistan, will complement the airline’s current flights to Sialkot and Karachi, the handout said. The new route will also further increase connectivity between the two countries, as well as the region. Chief Executive Officer SalamAir Captain Mohamed Ahmed said, “Pakistani community makes up about 13 per cent of the local expatriates working in Oman; it is therefore no surprise that this route has been one of the highest in demand.”
