MITHI, May 10: Adult Literacy Centres for females in district Tharparkar was formally launched here on Tuesday under the aegis of National Commission for Human Development (NCHD). Speaking on this occasion, Dr Sono Khangharani, executive director Thar Rural Development Programme (TRDP) said that his organisation was implementing the project in collaboration with the NCHD which would provide funds, books and other material for running 50 Adult Literacy Centres in Mithi and Chhachhro talukas of the district and the females aging 14 to 40 years, who were never enrolled, would be the beneficiaries of the proposed project.

Among others, professor Hotchand, Executive District Officer Education, Apa Saliha Naheed, DO secondary education, teachers and citizens also attended the ceremony.

WIDOW’S APPEAL: Koshila Bai, a resident of Chelhar town, whose husband expired in an accident in 2003, has appealed to the president, the prime minister as well as the chief minister Sindh to provide her government service or to fix a monthly financial aid for her as she had no source of income to feed her five daughters.

Through a representation, Koshila Bai revealed here on Monday that she was matriculate having no house to live and her husband Shankarlal died in 2003 in an accident leaving behind her and five daughters aging 3 to 11 years.
