TEHRAN, May 10: Former president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani confirmed on Tuesday that he would stand again for the post in Iran’s elections next month. “He is a candidate and will announce the reasons for his candidacy in a public declaration,” later, said Expediency Council spokesman Reza Soleimani. “Finally his worries over the present situation have outweighed his doubts,” Mr Soleimani said.—AFP
