GWADAR: At least five security personnel were injured in a roadside blast in the Pasni area of Gwadar district on Tuesday evening.

Official sources said that an improvised explosive device (IED) was planted in the Kanda-civil Tang-Kour area of Pasni tehsil.

The bomb exploded while a convoy of Frontier Corps was passing through the area, resulting in injuries to five soldiers travelling in the vehicle that hit the IED.

Other vehicles of the convoy remained safe.

The FC personnel travelling in other vehicles immediately cordoned off the area and took positions. They took the injured to the district hospital.

The condition of two injured FC personnel was stated to be serious, while three other received minor injuries.

Security officials said that a search operation had been launched in the area to trace out the militants involved in the blast.
