TIMERGARA: The residents of Khall tehsil in Lower Dir on Wednesday demanded of the district administration to take practical measures for improvement of service delivery of government departments in the area.
The residents made the demand during a khuli kutcheri held at the TMA office with the acting deputy commissioner, Mohammad Irshad, in the chair.
The elders, traders, local government representatives and residents of the area complained about poor performance of government departments.
TMO Mohammad Naeem, AC Mohammad Ashfaq, district education officer Hafiz Mohammad Ibrahim, DSP Sher Wali Khan, SDO Wazir Khan and representatives of health and forest departments listened to the public complaints.
Speaking on the occasion, Akhunzada Sikandar Hazrat and Malik Jehanzeb of PML-N, Malik Mohammadzeb of ANP, Malik Qadar Jan and others demanded of the government to declare Khall and its adjacent Rabat, Munjai, Timergara and Khungi areas a separate constituency of provincial assembly.
They said that residents of Khall were deprived of health cards while majority of the health facilities were short of doctors.
They said that unannounced and prolonged power outages and overbilling had made life of people miserable. The residents said that water supply schemes in Namsair and Toormang had been non-functional since long.
The residents also demanded of the administration to lift ban on stone crushing plants in the area. They said that government should arrange separate fire engines for Khall tehsil due to its long distance from the district headquarters.
Mr Irshad issued directives to relevant officials for resolving some of the complaints.
He said that administration would try its best to solve all the problems of the people. He added that administration would ensure improved service delivery of government departments.
