LAYYAH: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday held out an assurance to the sugarcane growers in Layyah that he would order action against the mills which would fail to comply with the government policy.

He inaugurated CT Scan Machine, PCR Lab and Children’s Complex in the District Headquarters Hospital.

The health facility also got solid waste management machines and vehicles for various functionaries.

He also gave away keys to ambulances to the officials in Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur and Muzaffargarh.

At Melad Ground, he provided keys to mobile hospital units to the deputy commissioners of Layyah, Bhakkar, Khushab and Sargodha.

The chief minister launched scheme of health cards through which 134,000 residents of Layyah district would benefit.

Speaking at the public gathering, he announced a university for Layyah (Bahadur sub-campus of the BZU will function as an independent

university) and upgraded polytechnic institute to an engineering college which will be affiliated with Bahadur University.

Shahbaz Sharif also opened Layyah-Chowk Azam dual carriageway and further allocated Rs1 billion to complete its first phase till June 30.

He criticised Imran Khan and Asif Ali Zardari during the course of his speech.
