MELBOURNE: The dream run of Pakistan tennis ace Aisam-ul-Haq and his doubles partner Marcin Matkowski at the Australian Open came to shuddering halt on Tuesday with a quarter-final loss.

Pitted against the sixth-seeded pairing of Bryan twins, Mike and Bob, Aisam and Matkowski of Poland were blown away in straight sets at the famous Rod Laver Arena.

The American pair, chasing a 17th Gran Slam trophy, needed 66 minutes to beat the 15th seed duo with a scoreline of 6-1, 6-4.
