Man commits suicide

RAWALPINDI, May 8: A jobless man, whose wife had committed suicide one month ago, hanged himself at Malpur falling in the jurisdiction of Secretariat police station on Friday. Police said Talib Hussain, aged between 18 and 19, had been in distress since his wife — Maryam — committed suicide. On Friday, Talib was found hanging in his room.

Meanwhile, a shopkeeper was robbed of Rs3.5 million in cash, phone cards valuing at Rs2.6 million and his car in Satellite Town.

The robbery victim, Atif Sohail, lodged an FIR with the New Town police, saying that he was on his way home after locking his shop on Saturday night when three persons held him at gunpoint.
