HYDERABAD: Proscribed Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM) chairman Shafi Burfat on Saturday rejected the claim about its links with a group of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
In a statement e-mailed to Dawn by the nationalist group from Frankfurt (Germany), he referred to the Larkana DIG’s recent press conference in which the police officer had claimed that the TTP’s Sajna group and certain militant nationalist groups of Balochistan and Sindh including JSMM had joined hands to destabilise the countries by carrying out terrorist activities.
He said that Sindhi nationalist movement had always been fundamentally accustomed to the values of sufism, secularism, religious tolerance, coexistence and peace proposed by the ideology of G.M. Syed.
He said the police officer wrongly attempted to portray JSMM as a terrorist organisation conspiring with the TTP, which he described as “Islamic terrorist [outfit]” to sabotage the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and carry out terrorist activities in Sindh.
