CHILD sexual abuse is an issue that is increasing in intensity in the country. The number of incidents reported increased by 10 percent over the last year.
Our children are facing multiple protection issues which is a threat to their very well-being and upbringing.
The abuse affects the victim’ for life having acute adverse effects on a victim’s social behaviour, as well as physical and mental health. Children are the assets of our society and should be brought up in an environment devoid of such dangers.
It is time child molestation is acknowledged as a social problem and civil society and the state collect on one platform to devise better measures for children’s safety.
