RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) on Thursday opened a group exhibition showcasing the work of local artists from Rawalpindi.

The exhibition was inaugurated by PML-N MPA Tehseen Fawad, and was attended by students and art enthusiasts.

Featuring over 70 paintings, the exhibition depicts nature through landscapes, cityscapes, sketches and figurative imagery. The artists utilised various mediums, including watercolours, pen and pencil and oil on canvas.

The exhibited works depicted the diversity of Pakistan’s landscape as various aspects of Pakistani culture, including indigenous features such as hills, farms, mud houses and village festivals.

The artists’ styles were simple but attractive. Exhibited artists include: Khurram Babari, Younis Roomi, Sheikh Mohammad Arshad, Mehwish Waqas, Farrukh Jamil, Sumbal Javed, Lubna James, Wajiha Ahsan, Mubeena Aftab, Rimsha Shahzadi, Amjad Shahzad and Nisa Abbasi.

Ms Fawad praised the artists’ work and called their works wonderful expressions of creativity and imagination.

The exhibition will run until Jan 17.
