MANSEHRA: The prayer leader of a mosque in Sulami Madakhail area of Torghar district was allegeldy killed by a group of unidentified people on Saturday night.

Maulana Shamsul Haq was on way back home after leading evening prayers in Madakhail area when an armed group opened indiscriminate fire on him, leaving him seriously injured. He was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

The police also initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact cause behind the murder.

The police after lodging FIR started raids to arrest the attackers, who managed to flee following the incident.

Also on Sunday, the Mansehra police arrested a narcotics paddler and seized over three kilogramme of charas from his residence.

SHO Shazhad Khan told reporters that a police party led by him raided a house in Balla area and arrested Mohammad Abid and seized 3kg of high quality charas from his possession.
