KARACHI: The All-Sindh Jinnah Team Badminton Championship will be staged from Dec 29, it was announced on Monday.

“Twelve teams are slated to compete in the championship being held at Pakistan Sports Board’s Karachi’s centre,” said one of the organisers on Monday.

Talking to reporters, president of the Sindh Badminton Association Tariq Rizvi and chairman Aftab Ladhoi said the three-day event was being staged to pay tribute to the father of the nation, Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, on his 141st birth anniversary.

The championship would help promote the game not only in Karachi but also across the interior of Sindh, the officials said and added that. The final of the event would be held on Dec 31.

Teams from KPT, K-Electric, Essa Laboratories, Medicam, PTCL, Master Motors, SBP, Wapda, SSP police East, Bohra community and ISH have assured their participation in the championship.
