Scrutiny of refugees

Published May 5, 2005

MUZAFFARABAD, May 4: AJK Chief Election Commissioner Justice Syed Manzoor Hussain Gillani has directed the AJK rehabilitation commissioner to scrutinize all the state subject certificates issued from 2001, to date to the Kashmiri refugees settled in Pakistan and submit report within two weeks.

According to a handout, the CEC observed that there were reports that state subject certificates had been issued to non-Kashmiris as well.

“In near future, the issue of Kashmir is going to be resolved and in such a situation only the Kashmiris have right to express their opinion in the affairs of the state,” Justice Gillani said.
