ISLAMABAD, May 4: The British chief of general staff, General Sir Mike Jackson, called on the vice chief of the army staff, General Ahsan Saleem Hyat, at the General Headquarters on Wednesday. According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), professional matters were discussed during the meeting.

ISPR said after meeting the vice chief, Gen Sir Mike Jackson visited the Defence Export Promotion Organization where he was received by its director general, Major Gen Syed Ali Hamid. He also went around various stalls there, said ISPR.

The visit of Sir Mike Jackson took place at the heels of a visit by the US Centcom chief.

The meetings by the senior military officials of the US and the UK with President Gen Musharraf were followed by an official confirmation that Al-Qaeda’s number three, Abu Faraj al Libbi, had been caught from North Waziristan by Pakistani military forces in a search operation earlier on Monday.
