ISLAMABAD: Three male Khyrougi were finalised on the second day of the Taekwondo Championship at Liaquat Gymnasium of the Pakistan Sports Complex here on Sunday.

Pakistan Army clinched top positions in all these events.

In the under 68kg (Feather Weight) category, Army’s Ijaz Ahmed got the first position followed by Jibran Asad of the Higher Education Commission and Rehmat Jamal of Gilgit Baltsitan.

Whereas, in the under 74kg (Light Weight) category Army’s Salman got first position followed by Muhammad Bilal of Wapda and Raziud Din of Gilgit Baltistan.

In the under 80 kg (Welter Weight) category Army’s Syed Afnan won the first position while Railways’ Rabnawaz stood second followed by Abdul Khaliq from Balochistan.

During the five-day championship, various competitions held in seniors, U-17 and U-14 age groups while some competitions for children aging five to 10 years are also part of the event.

Various teams from departments, provinces, services and regions like Azad and Jammu Kashmir, Islamabad and clubs are featuring in the championship.
